Dragged Under "The World Is In Your Way"

Written by Max Calabrese

Dragged Under’s “The World Is In Your Way” released on November 13th, 2020 known for their hits “Chelsea” and “Instability” is very hardcore heavy with some anthems here and there especially with “Riot” and “Just Like Me.”

I wasn’t expecting to find a Christmas song or should I say an anti-Christmas song with “This Holiday” with words I did not know would fit well together. I really appreciate the satire and realism in it. You don’t see a lot of anti-Christmas songs.

I like the structure of “Instability.” Very thrashy with the guitars and a little fake-out in the intro with the vocals making you believe the song is starting for a second until it officially starts.

I also like the little addition of either a police or ambulance siren. I like the message in “Roots” with what I can make out is their experience in either the music industry or a specific music label. Disagreeing with decisions and according to the lyrics: “I’m going back to my roots''

9/10 Listen to: “Instability,” “Chelsea,” “Roots,” and “This Holiday”
