I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME "GLOOM DIVISION"

Written by Max Calabrese

I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME’s “GLOOM DIVISION” released on February 23rd, 2024 is very indie and funk-heavy with unique song structures. This album has an 80s-style taste with its use of synths.

I found “A LETTER” to be a neat revamp for a The Brobecks cover. Or re-release with the fact that vocalist Dallon Weekes also participated in The Brobecks. It's a very philosophical track that is worth a repeat.

“INFATUATION” and “WHAT LOVE” are very anthemic with “ooh, and I need you now, but it’s infatuation” and “what love” that gives an 80s pop feel. I like the use of reverb in the second verse of “WHAT LOVE” and the audio in the intro reminds me of a new wave feel. A lot of incredible tracks on the album which kinda leaves me speechless aside from how fantastic each of the tracks’ structures are.

10/10 Listen to: “DOWNSIDE,” “GLOOMTOWN BRATZ,” “WHAT LOVE,” “KISS & TELL,” and “A LETTER”
