Behind The Scene Press: I Prevail gained momentum very quickly with your cover of "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift. Your fanbase seems very loyal. Are there any times where a conversation or meeting with a fan has been particularly special???

Eric Vanlerberghe: Yea it's been a crazy couple of years.  We have an amazing fanbase.  I don't know how we got so lucky.  We were able to meet a to of fans in person last year.  That's honestly been one of the coolest things.  One time we arranged for a fan propose to his fiance on stage during our acoustic song 'My Heart I Surrender'.  It was pretty cool to be able to share in a moment like that.  It's something that we'll remember for a long time.

BtS: Your summer tour with The White Noise, My Enemies & I, and Red Seed Rising is hitting the USA and Canada. Are there any parts of the US or Canada that you are especially looking forward to visiting?

EV: Obviously we're always excited about the Michigan shows.  Always wanna bring your best for the hometown.  Denver, Pittsburgh and Madison are always amazing to us so we have those circled for sure. But to be honest we're stoked for all these shows... our fans are amazing all over the country and every single city deserves our best.  We're gonna bring it.

BtS: You will be playing The Gramercy Theatre in New York City on August 2nd. Are there any New York City sights you hope to see?

EV: Yea we're really stoked for the NYC show.  We've always been treated really well there.  As far as sightseeing, we did Times Square and the 9/11 Memorial last year.  It'd be awesome to see a Yankee's game this time.  We've got some big baseball fans in the crew.

BtS: You are putting out your debut LP Lifelines later this year. Can we expect to be hearing a lot of new songs on this tour?

EV: We're playing a few new songs for sure.  We just dropped the debut single called 'Scars'.  The response has been insane.  It's sitting at number 6 on the iTunes rock charts as I'm writing this.  Definitely playing that one.  It's gonna be a banger live.

BtS: Where does the band name I Prevail come from?

EV: We're all from the Detroit area.  There obviously have been a lot of hard times here in recent memory.  We wanted a name with a positive message that spoke to where we came from.  We saw so many people in our area persevering through hard times.  "I Prevail" was a way to embody the spirit of that and set the stage for our message as a band.
