Bring Me The Horizon “POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR”

Written By Max Calabrese

Bring Me The Horizon’s “POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR” released on October 30th, 2020 known for “Kingslayer” experimental genres mixing with metal. A lot of featured artists in this album such as YUNGBLUD, BABYMETAL, Nova Twins, and Amy Lee all have an amazing inclusion to this album’s tracks.

“Dear Diary,” starts off the album's incredibly well-being thrash with an intense breakdown, especially with the guitar setting up for the vocals and falling right into that breakdown. The storytelling is powerful with theoretical real-world imagery and horror fiction with what I can depict from the song, a zombie apocalypse. I find it very interesting with the beginning Bulgarian choir in “Parasite Eve.” Mostly for being a sample of “Ergen Deda” by La Mystère des Voix Bulgares. A neat touch with drums hitting the first beat at the end of each chant. I like the trade-back vocals with Oli Skyes and Alissa Salls in the verses and pre-choruses.

“Itch For The Cure” hypes up “Kingslayer” pretty well with a message and drums giving an EDM feel. “Kingslayer” is a fast-paced anthem especially with the kick drum making it more upbeat. I like the use of the autotune in the outro shifting Oli Skye’s vocals to a thrash breakdown. I like how clean the vocal transition is in “1x1.” Really makes it clean for the Nova Twins’ vocals coming in on the second verse.

9/10 Listen to “Dear Diary,” “Teardrops,” “Parasite Eve,” “Kingslayer” and “1x1”
