Sorority Noise Joins Bayside, The Menzingers For North American Tour

It Kindly Stopped For Me out Now on Topshelf Records

"Achingly honest" SPIN

"Four quietly gut-wrenching, notably unplugged melodic rock songs." -- The Fader

"Sorority Noise's hushed, brief EP is a four-song cycle about grief and loss, narrated from the perspectives of both the departed and those left behind." - Pitchfork

"Either Way is a tender and understanding remembrance for a friend now gone, and a reminder of how we’re often blinded by our own struggles and unable to help those around us going through the same thing." -- Stereogum

Sorority Noise was formed in 2013 by singer/guitarist Cameron Boucher, who also fronts New Hampshire-based screamo group Old Gray. Looking for an outlet for some of his newer material, he enlisted Old Gray drummer Charlie Singer, along with Prawn bassist Ryan McKenna and second guitarist Adam Ackerman, to form Sorority Noise in Hartford, Connecticut. After a handful of early releases, including a cassette EP and digital single, Boucher and his bandmates delivered their debut LP, Forgettable, in early 2014. Fusing bits of emo and pop-punk with melodic indie rock, the band eventually caught the attention of Topshelf Records. Released in June of 2015, Joy, Departed, their follow-up album - and debut for Topshelf - took a more diverse and introspective approach.

Sorority Noise's new EP, It Kindly Stopped For Me, was recorded and produced by the band with artwork from Mitch Wojcik. It's available now from Topshelf Records.

Frontman Cam Boucher says of It Kindly Stopped For Me: "I recorded this EP at my parents house over the week of Thanksgiving. These songs are concentrations on friends I lost during the Summer and Fall of 2015. After we sent the 7" to the plant the thought crossed my mind that maybe these songs shouldn't have been released and maybe they were just for me but ultimately I'm glad I got to release this record and I think it's important for my head in the process of moving forward writing music."
